A HUNDRED-year-old man reversed his car on to a pavement and slammed into 11 people, including nine children.

Preston Carter said his brakes failed, sending his motor “out of control” as he pulled out of his parking space and backed on to the footpath.
He ploughed into a group of people who were buying snacks from a street vendor.
Some victims were trapped under the Cadillac before witnesses helped pull them out.
Helicopter footage showed a child in a pink T-shirt being loaded into an ambulance and a Hello Kitty backpack lying in the street nearby.
The kids had just finished lessons at a nearby elementary school in Los Angeles, California, US, yesterday afternoon.
Four children were in a critical condition when firefighters arrived but were stabilized and remain in a serious condition at hospital.

Asked about hitting the children, Mr Carter, who was not arrested, said: "You know I'm sorry about that.
“I wouldn't do that for nothing on Earth. My sympathies for them."
Police Captain George Rodriguez said: “I think it was a miscalculation on his part, the gentleman is elderly.
