Tragic ... Michael Jackson died aged 50
Insurance company Lloyds of London sued AEG and Michael Jackson LLC after the superstar's death over claims they had failed to disclose vital information about his health and drugs use.
But AEG says the move is not connected to the discovery of the emails.
Paul Schrieffer, of Lloyds, told CNN: "In exchange for AEG withdrawing its insurance claim, underwriters agreed to dismiss AEG from the case and to waive any costs recoverable from AEG.”
He said the insurance case continues against the Michael Jackson Company LLC "due to nondisclosures of Michael Jackson's prior drug use".
The Michael Jackson estate, which controls Michael Jackson Company LLC, is reportedly still pursuing its claim for a payout.
The emails, sent just weeks before the singer's attempted comeback, revealed the poor state of Jacko's health.
One from concert director Kenny Ortega said: "MJ is not in shape enough yet to sing this stuff live and dance at the same time.”
Another production manager called the singer a "basket case" and others told how he would drink and take drugs.
